Canon? Nikon? Nope. And Nope.
It’s the iPhone (in all the various flavors). So, what does every iPhone-owning, camera loving, picture-taking user need more of? Camera apps. Here’s one with a nominal price tag that features zoom and effects.
Click Me Baby, One More Time!
To be honest about iPhone camera apps, I’m convinced they’re an addiction. Some are free, most are 99-cents to a few dollars, and they all, well, take pretty pictures.
ProCamera is no different; better in some respects than most iPhone camera apps, but has a few extra features not found on Apple’s official camera app.
Think of the basics that you need in a smartphone camera. Point. Shoot. Share. Beyond the basics most of us also want zoom. In real time, like a DSLR.
ProCamera does that and more. There’s a night mode that enhances photos in low light situations.
There’s anti-shake to reduce the number of blurry photos. And, there’s individual controls for exposure and focus. Take that, official iPhone camera app.
Also built into ProCamera is a virtual horizon and an alignment grid so your photos don’t come out crooked.
Controls are always a fingertip away and mostly self explanatory. Mostly.
Slider bars control color and effects as well as zoom.
Considering the low price and the options for granular controls, you’re getting far more camera than Apple provides in the official iPhone app.
Yes, ProCamera does both pictures and video, and uses the same tools and controls for each.
Once you’ve take a few photos, where do they go?
Save photos in the built-in lightroom, or save to the iPhone’s camera roll. Your choice.
And, yes, photos and movies can be shared online with built-in touch controls to share via email, Instagram, and more. Is ProCamera the perfect camera app replacement? Well, it does more than Apple’s camera app, but more features also means a few more bugs, which users are happy (or sad) to point out, so reviews are rather mixed.
If it works great for you, great. If not, there are other cameras for less money.
