With the same space to manage and few bodies kicking in to work the chores, Jesse and I have to be more organized, more efficient. Yes, dear Apple lovers, there’s an app for that.
Manage Home From A Phone
Every home and household has a list of daily, weekly, monthly chores that should be done. Instead of relying on a faulty memory, add the Home Maintenance app to your iPhone for more control.
Think of this as Calendar and Events for your Home. Us it to schedule specific tasks that need to be repeated– weekly, monthly, yearly.
That includes changing air filters, or vacuuming, or weatherproofing the deck. Home Maintenance isn’t just a scheduling app, though.
It comes with reminders which pop up ahead of time to let you know what needs to get done and when.
And, importantly, Home Maintenance also comes with tips to save money by making your own disinfectant spray, or how to clean using a lemon, or, how to create your own laundry detergent.
Reusing tea? Sure. Why not?
Home Maintenance is a free app.
Whoa, Nelly. Free? What’s the catch? Is there a gimmick?
Yes. Free just doesn’t mean what it used to mean. To use Home Maintenance you’ll need to create an account with BrightNest (a site which gives you ideas and details on how to make your home a castle).
It’s a giant repository of tips and tricks for the home. For example, there are tips on buying in bulk, tips on how to reuse product containers, clean rust, eliminate mold, or fix a home to remove allergies.
I haven’t found anything about the Home Maintenance app or BrightNext that’s not to like, although figuring out their business model remains a challenge. So far, no one has tried to sell us anything.
