For now, those of us who love the utility of the Menubar will suffer when the area gets too crowded with must-have apps. Here’s another one. It displays the current weather– conditions and temperature– with a click. Do you need more?
Not Great, Not Expensive
For the most part, it’s true that you get what you pay for in life. Farensius is the Mac Menubar app that gives you about 99-cents worth of weather information with a click.
All the Menubar displays with Farensius is all you need to know about the current weather, even if you want more.
There’s just not much going on here, hence the low, low, low, but not-quite-free price tag.
You’ll see a simple icon reflecting current conditions (cloud for cloudy, sun for sunny), with a temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius, hence the name, Farensius.
Basic features include multiple city locations, and a slider to change the weather update frequency.
I’d like to report that there’s more to Farensius, but there’s not. Wait. There’s more. But not much.
Farensius gives you controls over font size, temperature unit, and an option to display weather information in a hovering window.
You can also select the five day forecast for whatever city you choose.
Now, that’s it. It’s not a bad deal for 99-cents. It’s just not more than you want for less than you want to pay.
