My personal facial shape seems to be governed by what I had for dinner last night, yet even I was impressed with what I learned from FaceShape.
This is more of an information app for Mac users worried about their faces than it is a utility or tool.
FaceShape helps you find your face shape by having you stand in front of a mirror and pull your hair back off the face.
Everyone’s face shape has different characteristics and FaceShape gives you specific cues and instructions to match your style– hair, earrings, eyebrows, makeup, and glasses.
Start using FaceShape by selecting your face shape from the app.
FaceShape analyzes your facial characteristics and provides tips for eight different and distinct face shapes.
Then, it outlines specific guidelines which can enhance the overall visual appearance of your face.
The Face Quiz is where you get started to determine your face shape. While the information in FaceShape is useful and helpful and probably accurate, there’s no try-before-you-buy version available, and at $4.99 it sits above my personal threshold for an app trial without a trial.
The developer’s webpage features a prominent Download Now button which is misleading. It’s actually a Buy Now button. There is no download unless you buy first.
The iPhone and iPad version is priced the same so there’s no discount when going to the mobile app. If you’d prefer to save a little money then Google for face shape types in your browser and you’ll probably get the same information for free.
