Here’s another one that’s free, highly rated, and almost-but-not-quite guaranteed to let you capture and share your life’s big adventures and small moments. Yes, it’s another free video capture app for the iPhone. Truly, this is a business model that escapes my understanding.
Free And Easy Videos
Those aforementioned photo app folders contain camera apps, photo enhancement apps, a few more video camera apps, and a few more enhancement and editing apps, and none of them cost more than at $1.99.
Lightt is free. The name Light was probably already taken, but in true Flickr and Tumblr style, Lightt works as a name. Although Videeo would seem more descriptive.
Lightt works a bit differently. Press the video record button to record a video. Then, release the record button, and press it again later to build up a sequence of video clips.
It comes with filters to enhance the videos, and you can setup and use your own online Channels and organize your videos into groups for family and friends to view.
Videos can be posted to Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, or share by email. There’s a nice setting called Lightt Speed which plays back videos at five times the recording speed. Video clips are easily re-arranged to create a storyline.
Lightt makes it simple to capture video clips, add filters and effects, and the arrange the clips to match whatever storyline you want to create– all within the iPhone’s screen.
There isn’t much to complain about when using Lightt. It works simply enough, and isn’t loaded down with complicated bells and whistles.
What I don’t know is why Lightt even exists at all. There are hundreds of video capture apps on the App Store– some do more, some do less, some priced nominally, many are free. Increasingly, my preference is to devote time and effort on apps that I hope to see around in a few years.
