My favorite iOS portrait photo enhancement app is called Facetune. Try it. You’ll like it. What about Mac users? Fortunately, something similar is also available on the Mac.
Better. Faces. Instantly.
How do you improve a portrait photo? If you don’t have an iPhone or iPad with Facetune, try Beautune for the Mac.
The end result is a portrait that’s been repaired, enhanced, improved, cleaned, tweaked, and altered (in a good way) from the original.
Beautune works much the same way as Facetune but instead of using your finger, Beautune gives you more granular controls and specific tools which work together to create digital makeup.
For example, there’s Foundation, Wrinkle Remover, Blemish Fix, Blush Boost, and tools which can Reshape a face, including Weight Loss which makes a face look slimmer, younger.
Beautune can apply digital foundation to smooth skin color, blush adds color to cheekbones, and lines and dark circles are easily dismissed from view.
Teeth are easily whitened, zits, pimples, moles, and scars can be brushed away completely.
Beautunes is adept at color changes but also excels at physical changes– edit the eyes to make them larger, brighter, or even a different color.
The app’s tools are plain and obvious, with simple slides to adjust intensity of each effect.
The reshape tool makes it easy to gently sculpt facial features which may be out of whack, but easily improved. Beautune comes with filters, frames, and it’s a good sharing citizen with built-in options to send your completed masterpiece to iPhoto, or upload to Facebook, Twitter, or Flickr.
This is a wonderfully useful app with a range of tools that focus on the portrait. It’s more expensive than Facetune, obviously, but the tools are easier to master, and the results more detailed.
