There are times when I need a quick and easy way to jot down a note or a number or copy a snippet of text or a URL and Stickies is about the easiest, fastest way. Unfortunately, Stickies are not easily managed. That’s why you need Switchies.
Categories Of Stickies
Switchies does what Stickies should already be able to do but does not. Sets of Stickies. Categories of Stickies. Stickies management.
Stickies should work this way. Create a set of Stickies and assign a unique color to the set. Even assign a description to each Stickies set.
Switch from one set of Stickies to another set with a click. The floating horizontal bar displays the Stickies’ sets.
You control the width of the Switchies bar, too. Switching is simply a right-click on a specific Stickies set.
What you get with Switchies are more Stickies than ever because you’re not limited to a single set of Stickies (as is the norm in OS X).
The only problem I can see with Switchies is, well, Stickies. Stickies are nothing more than digital Post-It Notes in a variety of colors. They’re simple, elegant, useful, and easy to get out of the way.
But they’re still Stickies. Switchies merely gives you more Stickies and an easier way to manage them in categories or groups. If you need that many Stickies then you should probably look at a notes app or a decent todo app for your Mac.
