Imagine my surprise when a student, smack in the middle of an American History class, decided to show us how to learn about U.S. presidents by having them blast aliens. If you thought kids flocked to see the app where presidents take on alien life forms, you guessed right.
The Prez vs. Alien Green
Simply put, Presidents vs. Aliens is a game about U.S. presidents, including presidential facts, quotes, historical events, even nicknames.
As the student engages the aliens they’re required to know more about each president, and it’s not as easy as it sounds, but it’s loads of fun for kids.
In other words, to be successful against the alien invasion, a player has to know about each of the 44 presidents in the game.
After each level is successfully completed and the aliens vanquished, new aliens appear, but so does a new president which requires more facts and knowledge about the president.
The game contains hundreds of questions as well as free bonus games. Heads of State! and Executive Order.
In Heads of State! presidents float around in space. Click the correct one to match, otherwise, three strikes and you’re out. In Executive Order, you have to drag and drop each president to arrange them in the correct order according to their term.
The game itself does not contain ads so it’s safe for home and school. There are no in-app options (I’d pay for one that does current events or vice-presidents), and Presidents vs. Aliens does not collect data or work with Facebook or Twitter.
But it is a fun way to learn about presidents and save the country at the same time.
