We Mincey folk love the basics in live. Home-brewed beer and poker. If you’ve visited my personal website at BohemianBoomer then you know I loves me some poker and card playing applications on my Mac (and iPhone and iPad). Here’s another one.
Poker Odds Calculator
Poker is a mostly easy game to learn, but far more difficult to win consistently. If you’re into Texas Hold’em, then you’ll like using PokerCruncher.
All this slick little Mac app does is give you the odds on a hand in real time. First of all, it starts out as a basic 10-player hand ranges odds calculator (similar to competing products).
Beyond that you get stats like crazy, including Deal-to-Flop, flop texture analysis, and much more, including hand histograms, odds for flopping draws, combination draws, and even flop hit statistics.
Got range equity distribution graphs? Of course you don’t. But PokerCruncher does.
The app features a full grid of 169 starting hands, built-in hand ranges, even hand combos and select suits in hand ranges. It’s a good way to test what-if scenarios as you can generate random player and board cuts.
Alright, can PokerCruncher improve your poker skills? Yes, but there’s some dedicated effort required. This is a serious tool that can give serious results and comes with a serious price tag (albeit affordable with a good return on investment, especially if you play for money).
