Contacts, Calendar, Messages, Pages, Numbers, OK. Keynote? Not so much. Stickies? Obvious. Photos? Obvious. PhotoStickies? Wait. What? It should be obvious. This clever Mac app kinda sorta mostly melds the obvious into something better.
But It’s Free!
Who doesn’t have a few photos around their space in a cubicle farm, or home desk, or on the Mac’s Desktop wallpaper?
Who doesn’t use Stickies? PhotoStickies blends the two into a simple, straightforward Mac utility which puts photos into Stickies-like windows which float around your Mac’s screen, or directly on the Desktop.
Add a border to the floating photos or make the photos border free. Adjust the size of the floating photo to match your Mac’s screen workspace.
PhotoStickies also lets you drop in the URL of a webcam so you can watch an automatically updated camera. Considering that the app is free, this option is worth the price of admission alone.
It can record webcams from within PhotoStickies so you can make that your Desktop photo instead.
The photos in PhotoStickies can be your favorites or something from the internet. It’s either a cool way to display photos of loved ones, memorable occasions, the next vacation, or a way for photo buffs to clutter up their Mac screens.
Why is PhotoStickies free?
You would pay to have an app clutter up your screen? The webcam idea is good, though, and could be setup as a nannycam, kindercam, or securitycam.
