What’s less well known are the add-ons for Mail, including our favorites, SpamSieve and SendLater, both of which we consider to be among the best for Mac folk. However, if you’d like a way to capitalize on email, or just find an easier way to use email, here are two to consider.
It Takes Two To Tango
First up on my list of useful but not-must-have utilities for Mail is one called Mail Satellite. All it does is something quite useful. Instead of having to switch to Mail to see what’s hit the inbox, or instead of glancing at the Mail badge in the Dock, view unread messages from the Menubar.
What you get is simple. View unread messages, delete messages, reply to messages, or reveal the complete message all with a click, and importantly, without bothering to open Mail. Not bad for free, huh?
And speaking of money, Mac users can make some money by using MailToBotic, an inexpensive mass email app which lets you send dozens or hundreds or thousands of messages at once, each customized with name and other personalized fields.
All you need is a list of email addresses and a message.
MailToBotic has options to add attachments, send messages in HTML, and customize and personalize the message for each recipient. It’s smart enough to delay sending email x-number of seconds between outgoing messages so as not to overload your internet service provider’s email system.
It’s a sweet and simple utility but missing one important feature– import email addresses and names from Contacts on the Mac. Instead, you have to obtain a properly formatted list of email addresses, tab or comma delimited, to become recipients. Otherwise, nicely done, not too burdened with features, and priced right.
