As a school teacher– elementary, middle, high school, and private school, and just between you and me and the fencepost– I can tell you that teaching is hard work for teachers and handwork for successful students. Sorry, but the traditional bell curve applies to today’s generation of students.
In every school there are bright kids, not so bright kids, and the great unwashed masses of average students trying to get ahead with what they’ve got in an environment that is not always conducive to learning. Here’s an app that can help any student do better in school by managing the day-to-day details on a Mac, iPhone, iPad, or Watch.
iStudiez Because iAm
The problem with the school environment these days has more to do with hectic complexity than it does curriculum, and success has more to do with good study habits than social skills (and sometimes the latter is a deterrent to success as a student). Enter iStudiez Pro, a very affordable Mac, iPhone, iPad, and now Watch app made for students who want to get ahead, want to manage the daily chaos more effectively, and become not only better students, but better people.
iStudiez Pro is the way to manage school life– high school, college, graduate school, whatever the education venue. The app itself is more of a day planner for students but also teachers, highly customizable for classes and activities.
This is iStudiez Pro on the Mac.
Course information, home work and project assignments, and all the details that form the backbone of a class are easily captured and retrieved in the app. That includes extracurricular activities as well as curriculum.
Any student who can navigate a Mac can handle iStudiez Pro.
Class schedule and activities are easily viewed using the lefthand sidebar list. Click on an item and view the details– class schedule, assignments, even upcoming exams and projects.
The calendar view on the Mac app gives students (and teachers) a one-click view of the week’s scheduled classes and activities.
The planner handles alternating week schedules, rotating schedules, and block schedules, and there’s room for student and instructor details– phone numbers, office hours, email, and everything else to make sure there’s no excuse for missing an assignment or muffing a project.
All this makes the Mac a primary tool for a good, well disciplined, and successful education experience. But not everyone has a Mac. Apple says the entire Mac installed base just tops 75-million users. What about the more ubiquitous iPhone and iPad which number into the hundreds of millions of users?
There’s iStudiez Pro for iOS.
As you would expect of an app suite this capable, iStudiez Pro syncs between devices; Mac, iPhone, iPad, and the iOS version even has a companion Watch app.
If there’s a problem with iStudiez Pro it’s that both students and teachers need a bit of discipline to use the tool to follow classes, assignments, and activities. Some students just don’t want to put out that extra level of effort to manage assignments. Other than a Mac or iPad itself, I can’t think of a better tool for students and teachers and iStudiez Pro for all devices is priced right (much more for the Mac version, though).
Finally, yes, there’s a Windows and Android version of iStudiez.
