For example, if you have a link in email and Safari is your default browser, that link will always open in Safari when clicked. Instead of copying the link and then pasting it into Chrome or Firefox or whatever, there’s a nifty utility that makes it easier.
Open With This
This nifty little utility is called Open With and what it does is take a link in email or wherever, and let you open the link in another browser or another email app– without doing the copy and paste routine.
Here’s how it works. The Open With utility lets you choose between multiple email applications and multiple browsers whenever you want to click on a link– email address or URL link.
Open with resides in the background and whenever you come across a link in a webpage or email message it will select the browser or email app of your choice with a pop up. That means you can use in Gmail or Mail or Outlook or Spark or other email apps. And you can use it in various browsers, from Safari, to Chrome to Firefox, and others.
When it works, this is a sweet utility.
Not really, but there might be an issue for you, depending upon how your Mac is setup. Open With needs to be set as the default browser and the default email app on your Mac. If that works for you, then then utility can be a big time saver, and it’s priced about right.
