Boosteroid stands out as an independent cloud gaming platform that seamlessly integrates with major vendors, demonstrating a proficiency in promptly incorporating support for the latest gaming titles ahead of competing platforms. Read our review on Boosteroid. Look at our Boosteroid list of games.

Editor’s choice: In our editorial selection, Boosteroid is designated as the top recommendation, particularly for the majority of Mac users. The rationale behind this endorsement is rooted in its exceptional user-friendliness, streamlining the setup process for a smooth user experience. Furthermore, it consistently delivers outstanding performance, maintaining a stable frame rate of 60 frames per second (FPS), even when running the latest games. Crucially, this commendable performance is achieved without subjecting your Mac to overheating concerns or consuming an excessive amount of storage space.

Features: Constant 1080p/60 FPS; Stable connection; Low bandwidth requirements (15 MBPS); Huge gaming library with all the latest AAA titles

GeForce Now is the most well-known cloud gaming service at the moment, and it also has the biggest gaming library out there. Additionally, this is the only cloud gaming service that currently features a free option.

Features:

  • A free (albeit limited) subscription plan.
  • Ability to play with 4K and 120 FPS and use RTX technology with its Ultimate plan.
  • Supports upwards of 1500 games.

Amazon Luna is like a TV streaming service, but for video games. It has different “channels,” and each one has its own set of games you can play. If ‘Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown’ and other games you like are all in one channel, Luna can be really handy. You just subscribe to that channel and get to play all its games without buying each one separately. Plus, if you have Amazon Prime, you get a few free games every week to add to your collection.

The catch is if the games you want are spread across different channels on Luna. Then, you might need to pay for more than one subscription, or you might even have to buy some games separately. Also, keep in mind that Luna doesn’t have as many games as some other cloud gaming services like Boosteroid or GeForce Now. So, it’s a good idea to check if it has the games you’re looking for before you decide to subscribe.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Mac Performance With Cloud Gaming

Our Boosteroid Experience

In our Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Mac experience with Boosteroid, we found this cloud gaming platform to be a trusty gaming solution. It made our gaming experience stable, easy, and incredibly enjoyable, ensuring that every action in “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” was an epic and flawless journey through time.

Getting started with Boosteroid was as easy as pie – we just logged in and chose our game. There were no confusing setups or any technical obstacles, but let’s talk about why it’s important for a game like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to run smoothly. When you’re playing an epic adventure like this, you want it to look great, and you want your actions to happen without any hiccups. Boosteroid made sure of that. It kept our game running smoothly, maintaining a consistent frame rate and a resolution set to a maximum of 1080p. What is more, Boosteroid automatically adjusted the game settings to make sure everything ran super smoothly. So, for us, the service struck a perfect balance between breathtaking visuals and a seamless gaming experience.

Our GeForce Now Experience

We launched Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on GeForce Now without any troubles as the service lets you stream the game from their servers, so you can just open your browser and get going. But, to get in on the action, you may want to sign up for a paid plan. There’s a free option on GeForce Now, but it limits your game time to an hour, and you might get stuck waiting to play, so we recommend signing up.

GeForce Now wants your internet to be a little faster – think 25 Mbps fast – but it pays off with a game that looks sharp and plays smoothly at 1080p resolution and 60 frames every second. We hit a snag when our internet wobbled, though. GeForce Now’s quick fix was to dial down the game’s graphics so it could keep up the frame rate, which wasn’t the best look but, overall, we had a good gaming experience with this method.

Our Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Mac Experience With Amazon Luna

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for Mac can also be streamed on Amazon Luna, which is a service that lets you have a gaming library at your fingertips, where you pay for a subscription and get to play loads of different games. With Amazon Luna, you stream with 1080p resolution at a smooth 60 frames a second.

You’ll need to have an Amazon Prime membership or sign up for Luna+ to start playing, though, and these subscriptions open the door to a variety of games. It’s worth noting, however, that the range isn’t as broad as some other cloud services we’ve checked out. When we gave Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown a go via Amazon Luna, tough, we were impressed by how easy it was to get going – all through our internet browser and with only a 10 Mbps internet speed needed. The gameplay was smooth, keeping up the high frame rate and quality even on the game’s max settings.

We did pick up on a bit more lag time than other platforms, which could be a bit of a downer for those who are into really fast gameplay. So while Amazon Luna is a solid pick for playing Prince of Persia for Mac and getting into games quickly (especially if you’re already an Amazon Prime customer), there might be other options that offer a wider game selection and even quicker response times.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for Mac with Ryujinx

If you ever thought you could play Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for Mac without having to stream it, it turns out you can with a little help from an emulator named Ryujinx. It’s designed for Nintendo Switch games, and some players are saying it works wonders. Imagine playing Prince of Persia with crystal-clear graphics and no hiccups in speed, right on your MacBook Pro. That’s what Ryujinx can help you achieve.

Now, before you jump in, you’ll need your own copy of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown from your Nintendo Switch, so this means you should own the game and use your own Switch to get the game file. No shortcuts here. Next off, download the Ryujinx emulator – it’s free and gets regular updates to make it better. Once it’s installed on your Mac, you’ll use those game files you’ve prepared from your Switch to launch your Prince of Persia adventure right on your Mac.

Are there other local gaming solutions?

If streaming isn’t your thing, and you want to play Prince of Persia for Mac, there’s one more option, known as Boot Camp, but it’s got a catch. This alternative works only for Macs that have Intel processors, not the newer ones with Apple Silicon chips. Basically, Boot Camp lets you install Windows 10 on a separate part of your Mac’s hard drive, giving you the ability to download and play Prince of Persia as if your Mac were a Windows PC.

Back in the day, Boot Camp was the best solution for Mac users to play games that weren’t typically available on their system. But it’s starting to show its age, especially since it’s not compatible with the latest Mac models. That said, if you’re rocking an older Intel Mac, Boot Camp could still be your ticket to gaming glory. Just remember, you’ll need a hefty chunk of free storage and some time to set it all up before you can jump into the world of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown for Mac.

If you’re attempting to play Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown on Mac through CrossOver+GPTK or Parallels, you’re likely to face an issue common to many Ubisoft games. These methods are having trouble because of the game’s anti-cheat technology, which is meant to keep the game fair by preventing cheating, but causes problems when you try to run the game using these tools. The result is that the game often won’t start or run correctly, as the anti-cheat system isn’t compatible with these particular ways of playing on a Mac.
